I’m 13 and now actually realising how important education can be – hence the reason im here
Pseudo-Intellectual discussion is not the direction for an undergrad obviously. There is a framework which includes general study and a liberal arts ed in the first two years of university. This provides a basic framework for learning. You can’t learn much of any value by naval gazing. Stimulation is exploring within a framework. You should have been googling & doing research to be verified while at school. Group lead teaching is for those who aren’t bright enough.. to take in a lecture..
Good vids by the way
Are you social in any way without going to school? Cause I know antisocials that can’t really say their r’s and you might want to stay social so you can say your r’s.
Go back to school or talk to people some how. Just in case
i like school.
I dropped out of University after 1/2 year for same reasons, although I wasn’t paying for my education. I was being paid a scholarship. I actually care tons more about science and stuff now than I did before. And I think the future of education is in science/tech informational and (other than that) educational (how-to) videos.
Besides all that, I think in current state teachers should all be voted for/against by students annually to keep the bad ones away. This is plain democratic obviousness.
Hey Dan and other viewers, I really like to help people out and entertain too amd i can see that you do as well. but im not getting a lot of views or comments.. or anything really. It would be really cool if you would check out some of my videos and see what you think about them, Let me know what i can do to make better videos, get more viewers and subscribers.

i was really entertained not just by the video but as well as well as the music goes. though you have your point sir.

Funding should be spent more wisely. My school became an academy recently and got a large amount of money. It was spent on a room where we are taught to cook. Why don’t they pay teachers more, but make the education that teachers need take a similar amount of time to that of a dentist.
Dan your vocabulary is freakin amazing
Search Khan academy! !! His the future of education! !
dude, you have 22000 + views and 1200 ratings, that’s a really high views per rating ratio
I would change my school system so that research papers in history classes weren’t applicable to people who had a certain amount of credits in science or math classes. Right now I’m taking three AP classes and a history class, but it’s not fair that the term paper for my non-AP history class interferes with my studying for AP Calc or AP Bio. I would also remove gen-eds as a requirement for college students. High school is entirely gen-ed, we don’t need to spend thousands of dollars on ‘em later.
Interesting post. Glad to have stumbled across you, Pogobat!
@04chriz30: I also live in Hong Kong and I absolutely agree with your comment on education over here. Teachers don’t engage students in using their own brains but instead, just memorizing crap from textbooks.
@kenyag123 I hate to rain on your elitist parade, but that final sentence is punctuated incorrectly. Pardon the cliché—yes, that clause is a complete sentence without this interruption. Anyway, that sentence should be, “You’re dumb; you are really dumb, for real.”
I would definately give my school more money because as my school’s treasurer i realize how little money we have towards certain parts of our school groups and curriculum.
local schools in hong kong basically feed facts to students, HW is basically copy&paste from notes and not using your brain at all. you dont have to be intelligent to get As, just be hardworking, memorize everything and throw the information out in exams, and you’re guaranteed to get As. so i transferred to an IB school. nothing better. pointless reflections, written assessments for PE. IB = the art of BSing, too much writing, too little stuff taught. how bout a balance between the two systems?
@Jellyhag02 very strange coincidence! (im typing this in my break in a 3 hour ‘advanced manufacturing processes’ lab
)
but yeah i went into it due to interest, but quickly became bored with the course, now i just want to get it done, so ill have a very nice degree to fall back on, then go off and do something else i am genuinely interested in
to be honest since that comment ive started my third year, and its looking alot more interesting than the last 2, the other years were all theory
@DaGleese Well, unless you’re doing it for money, there must be a good reason. Is it a passion of yours, or you just like the way it applies physics and maths to cool stuff you like to do, or… Whatever. I know I’ve always dreamed to become an “inventor”, and these cool things always fascinated me – rachets, cogs, levers, that sort of stuff. That’s why I study mechanical engineering. Yes. Weird coïncidence, isn’t it ?
I’m glad you mentioned that ken robinson video! …and I’m also glad you mentioned in brief what it says because I don’t understand the video that well…lol =D
@kenyag123 S/he did that on purpose. I mean, what youtuber can’t spell bored? You’re dumb for thinking that s/he’s dumb. Cheers.
